2022 / 01 Donation of Specialized Medical Equipment, to the Pediatric Oncology Dept. at the AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki.
Our main goal is the welfare of the children but we are also responding to the pertaining everyday reality with regards to important needs that are required. This year (2022) we decided to direct our activities in the children’s health sector directing our attention to needs of pediatric oncology units in Children's Hospitals. After a thorough investigation we estimated that the corresponding unit of the AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki was in the greater need. Therefore and in collaboration with the Director of the Pediatric Oncology Department and other Oncologists in this Department, we proceeded with the donation of:
Two (2) Monitors for the continuous monitoring of essential vital signs for the younger patients (This purchase became possible after receiving donations in memory of a friend ,Nikos Panagiotarakis) and,
One (1) state-of-the-art Vein Detector that would facilitate working with the very young children as it is extremely difficult to find a vein in fidgeting or terrified children for a blood draw. The donation has exceeded €10,000 and will greatly facilitate the lives of young patients.
